Oak Avenue Landscaping, the Dunwoody crew that works without a gas engine
We specialize in creating beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces through all-electric landscaping solutions. From concept to completion, we work seamlessly with you to design and implement innovative, energy-efficient landscapes that harmonize with nature while enhancing your property’s beauty and functionality.
In April 2024 the City of Dunwoody named Oak Avenue its Sustainability Hero for business, the 2023 award, at a City Council meeting. The nomination came from the community, and the committee pointed to the all-electric equipment, the solar-charged batteries and the native planting we push for on every design.

We’ve added over 900 native plants for our happy customers. These plants support pollinators, restore local ecosystems, and reduce water use over time.
Decibels are logarithmic, so the gap is wider than the number looks. A gas mower and blower sit around 95 decibels; our battery gear runs closer to 65. That 30 decibel difference is roughly an eighth of the loudness you actually hear, which is the difference between a yard you have to shout over and one you can hold a conversation in.
Running battery equipment instead of gas has kept roughly 11,960 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the air. Using the EPA figure of about 0.88 pounds per mile for a passenger car, that is close to 13,500 miles not driven, which is about what the average American driver covers in a year.

What being an all-electric crew actually changes
Most of what people notice has nothing to do with carbon. It is that you can stand on your own patio and hold a conversation while the lawn is being cut. The dog does not hide. A nap survives the visit. There are no fuel cans standing on the drive, no smell of fuel left in the shrubs by the back door, and nothing blowing exhaust across an open window or a herb bed while somebody works through the afternoon. On a street where half the houses have someone at home on a weekday, that is the whole difference between a crew people put up with and a crew nobody minds.
It works because the batteries charge off the solar trailer, so an ordinary day needs no generator running in the background and no trip to the filling station in the middle of a route. Fewer moving parts means fewer mornings lost to a machine that will not start, and a quiet start means we can be useful earlier in the day than a gas crew reasonably can. Where it shows up week after week rather than once is the maintenance side, and how we look after a lawn without the gas engines or the blanket spraying is set out properly on its own page.
Two honest limits, because the version without them is marketing. A plate compactor, a masonry saw and a breaker going through old concrete are loud whatever powers them — on a hardscape build there are usually two or three days like that, and we name them in advance rather than let them arrive as a surprise. And the truck that tows the trailer still burns fuel getting to you, which is comfortably the largest thing left on our own footprint. That is one of the real reasons we keep the map small: the same faces on the same streets, and a fraction of the driving that chasing work across the metro would take. None of it changes the ground itself, which is why where the water goes is still the first thing we look at in a yard that is wet in one corner.
Our mission.
Our mission is to transform outdoor spaces sustainably while enhancing the beauty, functionality, and health of every property we touch. We believe that landscaping should be more than just an aesthetic improvement—it should contribute to a greener future.
We are a small crew, and we hire the way we work: slowly, and mostly by reputation. If you have run equipment, laid stone or kept a route on time, and you would rather do it without a two-stroke engine ringing in your ears all day, our careers page sets out what the work is actually like.
